Fall art exhibition sneak peek
September 22, 2009
Julie Nester Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its Fall Group Show, an exhibition of new work by ten artists. The exhibition will run from Sept. 25 through Oct. 31. There will be an opening reception in conjunction with the Park City Gallery Stroll on Sept. 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
This exhibition brings together ten artists who are at various points in their careers from emerging artists to established artists. The work from these painters also shows a broad range of styles including figurative, realism and abstraction. The exhibition includes figurative paintings by Marshall Crossman, Daniel Ochoa and Carol O’Malia; abstract paintings from Stephen Foss, Amber George, Erik Gonzales, Teresa Kalnoskas and Hyunmee Lee; and realism paintings by Jeff Cohen and sculpture by Mark Stasz.
Included in the show are two paintings by the gallery’s newest artist, Daniel Ochoa. Ochoa is an emerging artist from San Francisco, Calif. His evocative figurative paintings show an artist that is adept at translating the mood of the subject, while his use of abstraction within his process provides a veil of ambiguity and gesture. This young artist is on an upward trajectory, this year he has received a number of awards including first place in Figurative Painting at the San Francisco Academy of Art University Spring show; grand prize at the San Diego Art Institute 50th International Exhibition; and an editors’ award from THE Magazine Los Angeles.
