Fallen police officers remembered

The Park City Police Department this week is marking National Police Week, a time when fallen officers are honored. The Police Department has set up a display in the lobby of the Park Avenue police station for the week.

Two Park City officers have been killed on duty in the department’s history. Rodney Schreurs was struck and killed by a drunken driver in 1984. Albert Holindrake in 1908 was killed when his gun accidentally fired while he was examining the firearm.

A third officer, Lewis Berry, suffered a heart attack and died just after ending a shift in 1990.
