Firefighters on parade

The Utah State Firemen’s Association is celebrating its 100th Annual Convention June-11-14, 2008 in Park City. The event is being hosted by the Wasatch Back Fire Departments including: Park City Fire District, North Summit Fire District, South Summit Fire District, and Wasatch County Fire District. The convention provides a forum for firefighters across the state to meet, learn, and build camaraderie.

Two events that the public can enjoy are:

Today’s (Wednesday, June 11) Fire Ride (motorcycle ride) — Meet at Park City Fire District Station 36 1977 W. Canyons Resort Drive between 4 and 5 p.m. They will be departing Station 36 at 5 p.m. and ending at Wasatch County Jordanelle Fire Station, 10420 Jordanelle Parkway, Heber, Utah (Jordanelle State Park) at approximately 7:30 p.m. with a BBQ to follow.

Thursday — Parade on Main Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. (Historically the parade has served as a venue to showcase antique fire apparatus.)
