Free Dumpsters a thing of the past

Dumpsters will not be set up around Summit County this year to help people with their spring cleaning.

"Are we doing anything to educate the public?" Summit County Commissioner Ken Woolstenhulme asked.

Officials once found a dead cow inside a trash container and Woolstenhulme strongly supported ending the well-established program.

"The more government does for people, the more people expect," he said.

Summit County Commissioner Sally Elliott agreed in a meeting last week.

"If they can get it to the Dumpster they can damn sure get it to Three Mile to be dropped off and recycled," Elliott said about the county landfill near Wanship.
