Gerald Francis Hanley


Gerald Francis Hanley, better known as Jerry to his many friends in Park City, died Monday, Feb. 1.

Hanley was born at the Miners Hospital in 1923 and graduated from Park City High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked in the mines and later became a clerk for the U.S. Post Office on Main Street.

He loved to roam the mountains and streets of Park City He had two sons, Mike Hanley of Salt Lake City and Joe Hanley of Park City. Later in life he married Judy McComb Hanley, who cared for him through many medical challenges.

A celebration of Jerry Hanley’s life will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on State Road 224. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. and a vigil will be held at 7 p.m.
