Geraldine Florence Walter
Geraldine Florence Walter died July 7, 2010. Gerry was a sunny spirit to everyone she knew. She enjoyed being outdoors, bird watching, golfing, or walking with friends.
Gerry was an RN in Detroit where she met and married Floyd John Walter in 1949. Together they enjoyed golfing, bird watching and traveling and lived in Detroit, Michigan, where they raised their children. Floyd died in 1983. In 1999 Gerry moved on to Hemet, California, to be near her sister Dorothy and her brother Donald.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, brothers Donald and Kenneth Dick and sister Winnifred Reed. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Dick from Hemet, California; daughter Jane Piette and husband Steve of Chicago, Illinois; son Dick Walter and wife Deborah of Park City, Utah; 2 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Gerry was a devoted mother, sister, and friend. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the World Wildlife Fund or Hawk Watch International.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 10:00 a.m. at the Elk Meadows Assisting Living Chapel, 4200 North 400 West, Oakley, Utah, 84055. Condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.olpinhoopes.com
