Good Thymes now open in Newpark
February 16, 2010
Good Thymes has been open in its new location in Newpark for over two weeks and says it’s been a great decision.
Owner Ilese Jaffa said her lease was coming to an end when Newpark Resort developers asked if she’d be willing to run an early-morning breakfast service for the sake of Newpark Hotel guests.
"Timewise, it worked out well," she said.
The new neighborhood, the new space and the new offerings warranted a redesign to make it look enticing and fresh, she said. Colors were brightened and a bit of artistic flair was added.
"It’s much more modern and hip," she said. "We have a new look, new things, and Newpark is just where so many things are happening."
The colors, table tops, flooring and chandelier are all very contemporary. Contrasting nicely with the changes, are large historical photographs of Park City moved over from the old location.

Remembering roots but reaching into the future is a typical theme in Park City represented visually in Good Thyme’s décor, but also in the restaurant’s menu.
Her vision has always been "farm to table," Jaffa said. They strive to buy from local producers particularly during the warmer months. Good Thymes is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything about the new location is great, she said.
In addition to a larger kitchen and expanded seating areas, "being in the bottom of the hotel is huge," she said.
The eatery has always had a beer and wine license, but the current location allowed the addition of a full bar.
"We wanted to take it up a notch, while keeping it the same great, fresh food.
Large flat-screen televisions play sporting events, making it a great place to "get some wings, calamari and a draft beer," she said.
Good Thymes opened Jan. 29 at 1456 Newpark Blvd. Suite 15. It is now open seven days a week an hour earlier at 7 am. and closes at 10 p.m.
