Grass fire ignites in Park Meadows

Park City firefighters and a unit from the U.S. Forest Service responded to the scene of a grass fire that was reported near Monitor Drive, Lucky John Drive and Little Kate Road on Saturday afternoon. The fire was reported at 3:04 p.m. and as of 3:45 p.m. personnel were still on scene dragging hoses up a nearby hillside. No structures were reported to be threatened but onlookers at the Park City Racquet Club could still see some smoke. Spokesmen for the Park City Police Department said they did not know the cause of the fire yet but at least one witness said he had observed lightning in the area around the time the fire was called in.
