Gymnasium closes for Sundance

Jay Hamburger THE PARK RECORD

The gymnasium at the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center closed on Wednesday and will remain closed until after the Sundance Film Festival.

Sundance turns the gymnasium into a screening room during the festival. The gymnasium is expected to reopen at noon on Jan. 30.

Tennis court #4 at the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center, meanwhile, is scheduled to be closed on Tuesday for the festival. Its reopening is set for Jan. 29.

The gymnasium is a key screening room for Sundance. It holds 550 seats, making the gymnasium the second largest theater in the Park City area. Only the Eccles Center, with 1,270 seats, is larger.

Tennis court #4 is turned into the waiting area for the theater in the gymnasium.
