Hanging their hopes on a tree
February 19, 2008
A Milagro Tree is on display at the Kimball Art Center in Park City as part of the center’s Arte Latino exhibits and events. Milagro Trees ask for prayers or intentions for specific needs and are believed to produce miracles. Some of the requests hanging from this tree read, "I hope my grandpa gets better" or "Mateo has been ill this year."
On display also at the Kimball Art Center is the Latino-themed work of local students in the Wasatch Back Student Art Show and the work of professional painter, Joe Bravo, who uses tortillas as his canvas. The show will be on display through the month of March.
The Kimball Art Center is located at 638 Park Ave. Entry into the galleries are free and open to the public. For more information, call (435) 649-8882 or go online to visit the center’s Web site at Kimball-art.org.
