Henefer man dies in motorcycle crash

by Patrick Parkinson, of The Record staff

A 67-year-old Henefer man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon.

The crash on Echo Road occurred at about 2:20 p.m., according to Detective Ron Bridge, a spokesman for the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

A witness said Henefer resident Kent David Ballard appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle when he drove the 1972 Honda street bike off the right side of the road.

Ballard suffered head injuries when he was thrown from the motorcycle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bridge.

Ballard was not wearing a helmet and speed was a factor in the crash, according to Bridge.
