I-80 closures expected until Saturday night
March 2, 2012
Eastbound Interstate 80 near Echo Junction is scheduled to be closed for 24 hours from Friday night until Saturday, March 4 at 9 p.m.
Construction crews will demolish and replace an existing bridge over the Weber River. I-80 eastbound from exit 162 to exit 169 will be closed. According to Adan Corrillo with the Utah Department of Transportation, the construction and road closure are weather dependent.
Corrillo said motorists heading eastbound on I-80 to Evanston from Friday night to Saturday night are advised to travel north on I-15 toward Ogden and then continue northbound on Highway 89 to eastbound I-84.
Minimal delays are expected for drivers due to the detour. For more information on the project visit http://www.udot.utah.gov . To view an animated video of the detour, visit udot.utah.gov/renovatei80
