Voters add Simpson to the City Council and approve pedestrian bond

Park City voters went with the incumbents on Election Day, returning Candy Erickson and Joe Kernan to the City Council, and adding Liza Simpson to the five-person panel.

Erickson won her third four-year term, and Kernan earned a second. Simpson is an activist who is well known in recreation circles and on Main Street, where she lives and works.

Dennis Wong, Bruce Taylor and Kacy Quinley lost their bids for the City Council.

Simpson will replace Marianne Cone, who did not seek re-election.

Erickson was the top vote-getter, grabbing 24.5 percent of the ballots.

Voters also approved a $15 million bond to upgrade pedestrian and bicycling routes.
