Joseph F. Hebert

Park City resident Joseph F. Hebert passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 20, 2011.

Born February 18, 1931, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of Adrien and Martina Hebert. Joe joined the U.S. Air Force and afterwards graduated from the University of Denver’s Hotel and Restaurant Management school in 1959. He worked for Sheraton Hotels for 34 years and managed properties throughout North America. In 1974 he and his family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where he managed The Royal Hawaiian Hotel for 12 years.

Joe and his wife, Doreen, moved to Park City in 1997. He was an active member of the congregation at St. Mary’s of the Assumption and loved to ski at Deer Valley Resort. He worked in guest services at Deer Valley Resort for nine years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doreen Hebert; a daughter, Patricia Caley (Brian) of Menominee, Mich.; three sons, Michael Hebert (Lisa) of Park City, Stephen Hebert (Carol) of Dillon, Colo., and Jeffrey Hebert (Elizabeth) of Perth, Australia; a brother, David Hebert of Durham, N.H.; and eleven grandchildren.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at St. Mary’s of the Assumption on White Pine Canyon Road in Park City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
