Kamas Subway to open by end of summer

Hiring likely to begin early August out of store

The business complex sharing the Kamas Food Town parking lot on State Road 248 is almost complete and Subway is the newest business to apply for a license.

The franchise sandwich shop is being built by Abundant Brands, managers of all Subways in Utah. William Bruce, COO of the company said an August 15 opening is the goal.

Kamas is far enough away from Park City not to compete with stores there and has a large enough population of residents and passers-through to support a location, he said.

Subways in Manti, Ephraim, Price and Panguitch all do well, he said.

Typical locations in strip malls, which the Kamas one will be, do not have a drive through and usually seat about 25, he said.

The manager has already been hired, and applications for the rest of the staff will be accepted at the store about two weeks prior to opening so around the beginning of August, he explained.
