Kamas to celebrate Fiesta Days

For more than 70 years, Kamas has presented Kamas Valley Fiesta Days, a week-long festival that features rodeos, bull wars, a Dutch oven cook off and a demolition derby.

The events will begin with an ATV rodeo today, Wednesday, July 18, and run through Tuesday, July 24.

The schedule of events is as follows.

  • 18 ATV rodeo, Kamas Rodeo Arena, 7 p.m.
  • 19 All West Kid’s Night Rodeo presented by the Broken Heart Rodeo Company, Kamas Rodeo Arena, 8 p.m. Admission is $7. All children ages 10 and younger admitted free with paying adult. The night will culminate with fireworks after the rodeo and a dance at SS Bus Garage, 45 S. 300 East. Admission to the dance is $3.
  • 20 Kamas Fiesta Days Parade on Main Street, 5 p.m., free. Bull Wars presented by the Broken Heart Rodeo Company at the Kamas Rodeo Arena, 8 p.m. Admission is $7. The night will culminate with fireworks after the rodeo and a dance at SS Bus Garage, 45 S. 300 East. Admission to the dance is $3.
  • 21 Saturday activities at Kamas City Park include a fun run at 7 a.m., a Lions Club Scholarship Breakfast from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and a Dutch Oven cook-off at 8:30 a.m. A car show will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The talent show will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the princess presentation will start at 12:15 p.m.
  • Other Saturday activities include the Lions Club trap shooting contest at the Kamas Gun Club from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the demolition derby at 7 p.m. at the Kamas Rodeo Arena. The night will culminate with fireworks after the derby and a dance at SS Bus Garage, 45 S. 300 East. Admission to the dance is $3.
  • 22 No events on Sunday
  • 23 The Co-ed volley ball tournament will begin at Kamas City Park at 6 p.m. and a Pioneer Day program will be held at the South Summit Middle School auditorium, 355 E. 300 South, at 7 p.m.
  • 24 July 24 celebration will begin with a kids parade on Main Street at 10 a.m. Kid races will begin at the Kamas Rodeo Arena at 11 a.m. and Fiesta Bingo will be held at the Kamas City Park Building, 400 S. Main, at noon.
