Ladybots take state LEGO title
The Park City Ladybots, consisting of four Park City School District students, won the state championship at the LEGO League competition at the University of Utah on Jan. 28. The team will compete in the First LEGO League Invitational Open Championships in Florida in May.
LEGO League requires students to build and program a LEGO robot and complete tasks on a playing surface. According to Sheryl Prucka, Ladybot parent, this year’s theme is "Food Factor," which requires students to solve food- related issues. Prucka said 150 teams from across the state participated in qualifier rounds with 48 teams competing in Salt Lake City. The Ladybots beat the first-place team from last year, according to Prucka. That team came in second this year, she said.
