40,000 pounds that won't reach landfills

Thank you to all the Park City residents who helped make our Free Electronic Waste Collection Event a success. On Saturday, January 28, Recycle Utah collected more than 40,000 pounds of electronic waste to be recycled. That’s 40,000 pounds of precious metals, reusable materials, and hazardous chemicals that won’t end up in our landfills. With your efforts to recycle responsibly, toxic chemicals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium won’t end up in our ground water.

Thanks to the Park City Sunrise Rotary Club for sponsoring the collection event at the SBWRD. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Transit employees do an incredible job

I think it is important that the men and women who are involved in the operation of our local bus system be recognized for the incredible job they do throughout the year and especially during special events. I don’t think it is an easy task coordinating the schedule or maneuvering buses through our streets, dealing with traffic, crowds and snow, but those who work for our transit system are always considerate, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
