Officials expect to move out of City Hall in spring 2008, after the busy ski season, for more than a year as construction crews retrofit the building to withstand earthquakes and make other upgrades.
During the time the building is abandoned, City Hall departments will occupy space elsewhere. The plans include locations at:
( Miners Hospital, where the Executive Department, Mayor Dana Williams and City Manager Tom Bakaly will be assigned to the main floor. Human Resources will be assigned the basement and the Sustainability and Budget departments will occupy the second floor. The city envisions the top floor as a 25-person conference room.
Groups that now have space at Miners Hospital will move in December to make room for the city staffers but some of the details have not been finalized. Meetings that are typically held at Miners Hospital could occur in other government buildings, like the Park City Ice Arena.
( The Park Avenue fire station, which Park City officials plan to acquire. The Legal Department will move there during the Marsac Building work.
( The parking lot across from the Park City Library and Education Center, where temporary trailers will be placed in the southwest corner, allowing space for people to park. The Building, Planning, Engineering and Finance departments will be assigned space in the trailers. A trailer for restrooms will also be put at the site.
