Lofft gracious in loss

Kathy Lofft released a prepared statement following her loss in the campaign for District 53 of the Utah House of Representatives. Republican Mel Brown, the incumbent legislator, defeated Lofft, a Democrat and newcomer to Utah politics.

Her statement:

"While I am deeply disappointed in the outcome of the race, I am humbled by the support I received from so many good people throughout the District. My sincere gratitude goes out to all those brave enough to go on the record to demand much-needed change in our state government. I commend your courage and interest and encourage you to remain involved. I congratulate Rep. Brown on his victory and wish him well as he heads back to the legislature for the next term."
