Marley’s youngest to perform at Star Bar

ANNA BLOOM, Of the Record staff

Before Ky-Mani Marley continues West to perform in Las Vegas as the opening act for reunited ’80s rock group Van Halen, he will play Park City, tomorrow night. Andy Cantor, the new promoter of the Star Bar, says he’s set his sights on attracting national acts who otherwise might skip over Utah altogether. Marley is a feather in his cap.

The youngest of 13 children of the late reggae icon Bob Marley, and son of Jamaican table-tennis champion, Anita Belnavis, Ky-Mani, 31, has hit his stride. His fourth album, "Radio," entered the Hot Reggae Album charts at the top No. 1, that is and continues to maintain the No. 3 ranking.

Ky-Mani Marley will perform at the Star Bar at 268 Main St. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 at SmithsTix locations and $17 at the door.
