Matt Engen

July 25, 1963 December 15, 2010

Matthew Engen, known by friends as Matt, or more fondly as "Matteo," died unexpectedly on December 15, 2010.

The husband of Glynnis Engen, and son of Rolf and Carol Engen of Emerald Bay, Calif., Matt grew up in Laguna Beach, attending LBHS (1981 graduate), then the University of California at Berkeley. Matt returned to Southern California after college, and after his marriage to wife Glynnis, moved back to Laguna Beach in 1998. Matt had a successful career in the software industry for over twenty years.

Besides being an avid reader, Matt loved to travel, including trips to the Caribbean at least once a year. He was always up for a trip, and always up for fun of any sort. Often the life of the party, Matt’s personality and love of life always shined brightly.

Matt will be missed by many, as he touched so many lives with his humor, sparkling personality and caring nature. Matt is survived by his wife, Glynnis, his parents Rolf and Carol of Laguna Beach, his brothers Dave (Shauna) Engen of Park City, and Kip (Sherry) Engen of Los Angeles, sister Hollie (Greg) Ragland of Park City, and nephews Jackson, Thane (Engen), Dylan, Dusty (Ragland) all of Park City. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Heifer International (Heifer.org).
