Miners live through first elimination round

by Jen Watkins, Of the Record staff

The Park City High School hockey team defeated Alta 5-1 Jan. 27 at the Utah Olympic Oval to make it through the first round of division playoffs.

Captain Michael Foster was able to play after sustaining an injury in a prior game. However, Bryant Lo Re was out after receiving a minor concussion in a game against East last week.

The Miners were down to three defenseman, Grey Robbins, Steven Cox and Zach Hable, but managed to keep Alta at bay, outshooting Alta 34-20. The five Park City goals were scored by Foster, Tyler Kozole, Nate Shirrey, Robbins and Laura Kubicki.
