Money awarded for dog park at Quinn’s

Funding for a dog park at Quinn’s Junction is among the grants the Summit County Commission awarded Wednesday from its Recreation, Arts and Parks Tax.

A chunk of RAP Tax funding is earmarked for public recreation projects in Summit County. The Summit County RAP Tax Recreation Advisory Committee recommended how almost $599,000 should be spent this year.

The grants the County Commission approved include:

City Hall — $4,112 for a park on Grant Avenue; $27,706 for a dog park at the recreation complex at Quinn’s Junction; $83,003 for improvements at Park City Golf Club; $27,413 to cover costs at the ice rink at Quinn’s Junction

Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District — $124,204 for an aquatic playground at Trailside Park; $22,554 for improvements at the Basin Recreation Field House; $140,374 for projects at the ice rink at Quinn’s Junction

Park City School District — $11,580 for new flooring

Coalville — $40,697 for a skate park

Mountain Trails Foundation — $4,711 for Rail Trail improvements

Henefer — $13,195 for a stage in Henefer Town Park

North Summit School District — $17,355 for wrestling equipment

Summit County Fairgrounds — $5,600 for picnic tables and scoreboards

Kamas — $20,248 to remodel buildings

Peoa Recreation — $53,172 for restrooms and a kitchen at Woodenshoe Park
