Moose spotted in Park Meadows, Old Town and crossing S.R. 224

The Park City Police Department received at least three reports from people spotting moose in the city last week, with one of them seen crossing a busy state highway.

The cases included:

  • On Saturday, June 25 at 9:26 a.m., a moose calf was seen in the road in the vicinity of the Little Kate Road-Holiday Ranch Loop Road intersection.
  • On Thursday, June 23, at 8:55 p.m., a moose was seen crossing S.R. 224 close to the McPolin Farm.
  • On Wednesday, June 22 at 10:03 p.m., a moose and two calves were seen on Daly Avenue.

    Moose are common in Park City, and the police regularly receive calls from people who see the animals.

    Park City on Friday began the first steps toward selecting buyers for a workforce or otherwise affordable housing project in the northern reaches of Old Town. It is a process that is expected to draw widespread interest as rank-and-file workers compete to win the right to acquire a unit that would put them a few blocks away from Main Street, City Park and Park City Mountain Resort.
