More than $138K given away in scholarships
The Park City High School Community Scholarship Awards Ceremony honored 144 seniors on Tuesday. According to Park City High School Scholarship Advisor Nancy Michalko, about $138,750 was given away in scholarship money this year.
Seniors started the application process in March and scholarship donors made anonymous selections this spring. The Community Scholarship Awards started with the Park City Education foundation about 26 years ago before Park City High School assumed the role, Michalko said. PCHS senior Emily Preib was awarded a $6,000 scholarship from the Back to Our Roots organization. Preib said she spend time writing essays as a part of the application process. "I talked with my parents and we’re going to use the scholarship for my tuition this year. That’s going to be a huge help and were really happy and excited about it," Preib said, adding that she plans to attend the University of Utah in the fall.

Think moving to Park City on a time crunch is already tough? Try planning it from Argentina – and without fluency in English. A new group is hoping to make things less stressful for J-1 workers.
