O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree It’s time to be recycled
As much as you’ve reveled in the scent of pine needles over the past weeks, the time has come to detangle the strands of lights, pack ornaments lovingly in their boxes and return your tree to nature.
For those who want to avoid the haul-off altogether, the Park City Lacrosse Club is holding its annual Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser. For $20 per tree, the Park City High School boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams will pick up holiday trees at local homes and haul them to recycling areas. Pickup dates are on Jan. 3 and Jan. 10. To arrange a pick up, locals may call (435) 649-TREE or e-mail email@example.com . Proceeds will go toward team costs, including transportation, uniforms, and equipment.
Otherwise, Christmas trees can be dropped off between Dec. 26 and Jan. 13 at the following locations:
Christmas trees will be chipped into mulch for city and county plantings, which helps conserve water by preventing the soil from drying out.
