Michael Palmer Mealey, age 81, passed away on December 29, 2021, in Park City, Utah. He was born on May 16, 1940, in Oakland, California to Thomas R and Patricia Mealey. He married Judith Seaverns on May 14, 1970.
Mike was an avid skier, golfer, and world traveler. He also held many respected positions throughout his life, including serving in the U.S. Army (where he was awarded the Bronze Star), co-founder and President of Mealey Publications, Inc., being named Publisher of the Year by the National Newsletter Association, presiding as President of the National Newsletter Association and Stars and Stripes Alumni Association, serving as President over the Board of Trustees at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and serving as a board member at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah.
Mike is survived by his wife, Judith, his daughter Elizabeth (John) Yocum, his sisters, Pam Gillotti and Barbara Mealey, and his granddaughters, Amanda Yocum and Samantha Yocum. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas R and Patricia Mealey, and his brother, Timothy Mealey.
There will be a Celebration of Mike held on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 4-7 PM at the Stein Eriksen Lodge, 7700 Stein Way, Park City, UT 84060. Another Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held in Pennsylvania in the Spring of 2022 (details still pending).
