Obituary

Jesse Dean Hone, age 84, passed away Feb. 20, 2007, in Heber City surrounded by his loving family. Dean was born Sept. 3, 1922 in Provo, Utah, to Lewis and Sarah Jane Webb Hone. He married Bessie Barnes April 17, 1949 in Elko, Nev. The marriage was later Solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and fly tying. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific and received the Bronze Star for bravery and two Purple Hearts. He worked in the mines and construction and retired after 28 years at Thiokol Chemical Company. He was active in the LDS Church and worked in the Logan LDS Temple for 10 years with his wife Bessie.

He is survived by two sons: James Dean Hone of Ferndale, Wash., and Thomas (Marcy) Hone of Heber City; brother, Glade (Grace) Hone of St. George, Utah; sister, Carol (DeVere) Kent of West Jordan, Utah; three grandchildren: Jamie, Thomas Jr., and Cindi; eight great-grandchildren and two special great-great-grandchildren: Trevor and Zoe. He is preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Hone Jr.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at the Heber 2nd LDS Ward Building, 150 North 200 West, at 1 p.m. Viewings will be held at the church Sunday, Feb. 25, from 6-8 p.m. and prior to the service on Monday, from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Burial to follow in the Heber City Cemetery with military honors.
