Ethel Louise Broadbent Blackley Briggs Norberg, 73, our loving mother, wife, sister, grandma and friend passed away May 11, 2007, in the presence of her children in Las Vegas, Nev., due to complications following a recent stroke. Louise was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Heber City, the daughter of Clyde and Ethel Broadbent. Louise graduated from Wasatch High School and seminary in 1952 and remained close to many friends from that time period. She was looking forward to her 55th class reunion this June.

Louise married William Floyd Blackley "Bill" Oct. 20, 1952, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 25,1955. They lived in Utah while Bill completed his business degree, then moved to California in 1956, where they raised their family of six children. Bill passed away on Aug. 6, 1974.

Louise married Robert Stanley Briggs, "Bob," on Dec. 21, 1974 and they spent 21 years together. They enjoyed church activities with Bob’s full support. Louise served as LDS Relief Society president of the Canyon Springs Ward in Moreno Valley, Calif., and various other auxiliary positions. She continued many friendships from this time period and is remembered with great love in the Moreno Valley area. Bob passed away on Aug. 1, 1995.

Following Bob’s death Louise moved to Loma Linda and lived with her youngest son, Bryce. During this time she served an LDS Service Mission within the California Riverside Mission from 1998-99, a calling she truly enjoyed. When Bryce relocated to Montana in 1999, Louise moved to Prescott, Ariz., to be closer to family where she met Teddy Ross Norberg "Ted." They were married on Nov. 3, 2001, and lived in Meadview, Ariz. While in Meadview, Louise served as Relief Society president of the Dolan Springs Ward. Her ward honored her with a Memorial Service on May 19, 2007. She loved to travel, possessed great faith, courage and strength and was proud of her six children. Louise made everyone feel like family, no matter what "stray" her children brought home. She had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and her love was always unconditional. She had a unique gift of being a true friend. She is survived by all six of her children: Randy "W" (Yvonne); Sharlene; Todd Clyde (Milagros); Sandra Louise (Tom); Mark William (Tina), and Bryce (Heidi); nine grandchildren; and husband Ted. She is the second of five children, all of whom are living: Lynn (Merle), Jane, Fred (Carol), and Paul (Marilyn). She is preceded in death by two husbands and both parents.

Her ashes will be interred with William Floyd Blackley, her husband and the father of her children. Services will be held Saturday June 16, 2007, at the Heber 1st Ward Building, 325 E 500 N, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior in the Relief Society Room. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her would be appreciated to the Odyssey Healthcare of Las Vegas, 4011-A McLeod Dr., Las Vegas, Nev. 89121, where she spent her last remaining days in comfort.
