Jon Jaster

Jon R. Jaster, 24, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., died May 4, 2006. He was born Jan. 5, 1982 in Clover, Utah, the youngest of eight children.

Jon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Las Vegas, Nev., which he considered his greatest accomplishment.

Jon graduated from BYU-Idaho. He received his Eagle Scout award and was serving as a Cub Scout leader. He loved serving others and recently volunteered his time to the Hurricane Katrina relief.

Jon is survived by his parents: Gary and Jolene Jaster, formerly of Midway; seven brothers and sisters: Rock Jaster of Temecula, Calif.; David Jaster of Germantown, Md.; Rick Jaster of Centerville, Utah; Tracy Ritter and Michele Gray of Mechanicsburg; Mike Jaster of Oxnard, Calif.; and Mark Jaster of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandmother Leora; nine nieces and 11 nephews.

The funeral was held Monday, May 8, at the Camp Hill Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mechanicsburg. Graveside services will be held in Midway City Cemetery on Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at
