Anthony Alfred Alaniz was born Oct. 22, 1978, in Pomona, Calif. He died May 10, 2006, in Coalville. He had a big heart and a great outlook on life. He enjoyed working with wood and loved his family. He was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Porterville, Calif.

He is survived by his parents: Fernando and Leslie Gallego of Porterville; fiancée, Krystal Peart of Coalville; one son, Aric A. Alaniz of Visalia, Calif.; two sisters: Amanda Martinez of Porterville and Kristin Gallego of Turlock, Calif.; one brother, Fernando Gallego Jr. of Porterville; grandfather, Victor Martinez of Porterville; many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary S. Martinez and a cousin, Olivia Hoff.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, from noon to 7 p.m. at Whitehurst Loyd Chapel. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 6 p.m., also at the chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 18, 9 a.m., at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Porterville. A committal service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, following the mass.
