Obituary
Thomas Leonard Verhalen, age 72, passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Heber City, Utah. He was born March 31, 1934, in Lake Forest, Ill., the son of William Joseph and Pearl Evelyn Anderson Verhalen.
Thomas joined the U.S. Marines and served his country during the Korean War. In 1981, he moved to Utah and began a new career as a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed biking, hiking, snowshoeing, golfing and skiing all through the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.
He is survived by six children: Carrie, Cathy, Tom, Steve, Jacque and Chris; brother, Robert; sister, Mary Kerpan; and eight grandchildren: Rebecca, Lauren, Christina, Brennan, Colton, Madison, Morgan and Natasha. He is preceded in death by both parents.
A celebration of Thomas’ life will be held in March 2007 in Park City. Details will follow in early March. Arrangements are in the care of Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, Heber City.
