Boyd LeRoy "Red" Putman Sr. died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at an Ogden care center.

He was born Nov. 20, 1937, in Park City, a son of Rollo Lincoln and Ruby Ryan Putman. He was raised and educated in Park City.

Boyd married Irene Walker. They were later divorced.

Boyd served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic in the trucking industry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan.

Surviving are his children: Connie (Mike) Putman, Gail (Gordon) Owens and Juanita (Greg) Reed, all of Ogden; Boyd "Butch" (Kelly) Putman Jr., Clearfield; son-in-law Arthur Bates Sr.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Donald (Judy) Putman, Park City; Betty (Paul) Williams, Ogden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Putman and Elaine Loveridge; brothers, Wayne Putman and Ray Putman; and grandson, Arthur Bates Jr.

The family would like to express special thanks to Washington Terrace Health Services.

Graveside inurnment services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. Cremation is under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
