Obituary — Sol Browdy, M.D.
Sol Browdy, 89, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2008. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a caring friend and an extraordinary human being who radiated warmth and genuineness. Born in Trenton, New Jersey on April 10, 1919 to Russian immigrants, Leo and Clara Browdy, he graduated from Temple University and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. After spending two years as a U.S. Army Medical Corps Captain in postwar Germany, he practiced pediatrics in Trenton for 25 years and went on to become the medical director of one of New Jersey’s first HMOs. Sol was an avid tennis player, Yankee fan and writer. After the death of his wife in 1998, he moved to Park City, where he served on the board of the Park City Film Series and the Park City Jewish Center. Sol lived life to the fullest and was grateful for each day. Sol is survived by his children, Robin (Cliff) Ross of Park City and Mark (Mina) Browdy of Maale Levona, Israel; grandchildren, Lauren and Karen Ross, Yossie and Sarah Leah Browdy. He was preceded in death by Elaine, his wife of 50 years, and his sister, Bea Maister Mines. Graveside services were held November 23 in Park City. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Kim Scott for the compassionate care she provided to Sol for the past ten years. Condolences can be emailed to the family at MBrowdyRRoss@gmail.com .
