Old Town discussion planned

by Jay Hamburger OF THE RECORD STAFF

City Hall has scheduled another in a string of meetings about potential changes to the guidelines that regulate development in Old Town.

The meeting is set for Aug. 25 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Room 205 of the Park City Library and Education Center. Officials say house designers and regular Parkites are welcome. Some previous meetings have been arranged for either the designers or the regular Parkites.

Kayla Sintz, the City Hall architect involved in the discussions, says she expects about 40 people to attend the meeting. She says topics that will likely be discussed include parking, the height of Old Town houses, and the different designs necessary for uphill, downhill and level parcels of land.

"I think we’re going to get both ends of the spectrum," Sintz says.

The meeting is the last of its type that is scheduled, but City Hall officials could organize additional ones later.

Previous meetings have drawn mixed crowds, and the architects, house designers and regular Parkites offered numerous opinions.
