Park City Film Studios construction temporarily paused

Construction has temporarily paused at the Park City Film Studios site, the developer said on Wednesday morning, indicating work is expected to restart shortly.

The developer acknowledged the pause in a prepared statement requested by The Park Record. Greg Ericksen, the chairman of Park City Film Studios Development, LLC, said in the statement the pause is "due to financial questions surrounding future tenants." The statement did not provide details about the future tenants.

"We are on schedule, and plan to lay asphalt during the next week to allow us to work through an expected early winter season," Ericksen said in the statement. "We plan to have the financial questions answered by the time asphalt is laid, and will continue construction within the next couple weeks, to ensure we remain on schedule."

Chad Root, the building official at City Hall, said work stopped at the site on Sept. 9. It is the first stoppage at Park City Film Studios, he said.

Park City Film Studios is under development on the southwest corner of Quinn’s Junction.
