Boys’ Golf

The boys’ golf team took first place in the third tournament of the season last week, and was two strokes from creating a new school record for the lowest score in one tournament. Varsity player Ethan Eisenbarth scored a 70, two strokes under par.

Park City leads Carbon overall by 56 strokes with three region tournaments remaining. Their next tournament is Sept. 10 at Carbon.

Girls’ Tennis

The girls’ tennis team is off to a great start, according to Coach Lori McMahon. The Miners competed against 24 teams at the Ogden Invitational Aug. 28-29 that included several 3A, 4A and 5A teams. The Miners came out in second place overall.

"We got a great start to the season," McMahon said. "We’re going match by match at this point."

The team played Wasatch at home on Tuesday; however, scores were not available at press time.

Volleyball

The Park City volleyball team placed first at the North Sevier Invitational Volleyball tournament last Saturday. The Miners placed first in their bracket and beat North Sevier 3-0 in the championship.

"It was a really big win," assistant coach Monica Ferreyra said. "(The girls) were really excited."

The girls also played Juan Diego Tuesday but scores were not available at press time. Their next match is scheduled for Sept. 8 at Grantsville.
