A man died on a Park City trail Tuesday morning in a case the Park City Police Department indicated was a potential suicide.

The agency responded to a report at 9:09 a.m. on a trail close to the Cove Trailhead on the northern edge of Park Meadows. The person was on the ground, the authorities were told.

The authorities attempted life-saving measures before the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police said it appears the man lived outside of Utah. The police said the identity of the man was determined, but it was not immediately released pending the notification of the man’s family. The man’s age was not immediately known.

The case remains under investigation. The method was not immediately determined.

Caution tape was seen in the area of the emergency response on Tuesday morning. The Police Department and the Park City Fire District were at the scene. A section of a trail was closed for the investigation.
