Park City police probe vehicle burglaries in Old Town
The Park City Police Department continues to investigate a series of vehicle burglaries in the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday, indicating most of the cases were on the same street in Old Town.
The Police Department said it received five reports. Four of them were on Woodside Avenue, on the 1300 and 1400 blocks. The other case was reported on Crescent Road. Each of the cases was reported on Tuesday.
Phil Kirk, a police captain, said items like digital music players and a first-aid kit were taken. The Police Department did not immediately have an estimated value of the losses. He said the cases appear to be connected and appear to involve the same person or people.
“Very similar in the method, the time and the location,” Kirk said.
The Police Department is conducting extra patrols on residential streets in Old Town in response to the cases. Kirk said people should not leave valuables in vehicles and should keep cars locked.
Anybody with information about the burglaries may contact the Police Department at 615-5500.
A critic of a Park City workforce or otherwise affordable housing project in Old Town said he is considering an appeal of the Park City Planning Commission’s approval of the development.
