Park City police told of suspected meth at Main Street nightclub
A small amount of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found at a Main Street nightclub during the Sundance Film Festival, the Park City Police Department said.
The police received the report at a little bit before 6 p.m. on Jan. 28. Phil Kirk, a police captain, said the substance was discovered on the floor the night before the report. Kirk said a white crystal substance was found in a small baggie. He said security at the nightclub reported the discovery to the police.
The Police Department booked the substance into the evidence room. Kirk said the authorities plan to send the substance to a state lab for testing to identify the substance.
Kirk said methamphetamine can kill a user.
“Somebody might not realize how dangerous it is, if it is in fact meth,” Kirk said.
A representative of the nightclub did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
