Park City to unite Friday for second annual Day of Giving
Last year’s first annual Live PC Give PC Day of Giving, was a colossal success and the Park City Foundation is hoping to make an even bigger splash this Friday.
The best part is, if they are successful, so are we.
The event is a one-day sprint to raise funds for a myriad of local nonprofit agencies and the money they receive will reverberate through the community for years to come.
Last year, the event garnered $332,000 in donations for 60 nonprofits. The half-in-jest, all-in-earnest competition among nonprofits to raise the most helps to spur additional support and this year will, no doubt, be the source of some elbowing between popular local nonprofits. Last year’s leaders were, in order: Friends of Animals Utah, Mountain Trails Foundation, Park City Day School, Summit Land Conservancy and The People’s Health Clinic.
But in addition to finding homes for abandoned pets, maintaining hiking, biking and cross country ski trails, educating kids, preserving open space and providing health care for the uninsured, Live PC Give PC also supports many other groups doing a wide range of good deeds.
The event, perfectly timed at the beginning of the holiday season, offers an easy way to spread some cheer among many worthy organizations. And in these days of information overload, the Park City Foundation has culled a fine list of verified groups with clear ties to the community.
Whether your passion leans toward animals or the arts, health care or housing, sports or Scouts, the Park City Foundation can steer you in the right direction.
Participating is as easy as logging on to the Live PC Give PC website from your favorite armchair. The clock starts ticking at midnight Thursday and continues through midnight on Friday. To learn more or to donate, go to http://livepcgivepc.razoo.com/
The site includes links to all of the participating organizations and offers a secure way to make online contributions.
Then sit back and watch our community’s nest egg grow.
With 40,000 square feet of retail space, 234 condos and something called a “ski beach,” the Pendry project will be a major addition to Canyons Village.
