Construction is Inn style on Main Street

Crews on Main Street have started to renovate the April Inn, continuing an extraordinary year of construction along the popular shopping, dining and entertainment strip.

The workers built a covered pedestrian walkway for safety and then started to tear out walls.

The Park City Building Department says the crews are converting the 12 residential units into three larger ones. The entrance to the residential units will be moved from Park Avenue to Main Street.

Three shops on the Main Street level will be temporarily relocated during the work.

Chad Root, the building official at City Hall, says the overhead work required the covered walkway.

The April Inn renovation is one of a series of projects underway along Main Street or just off the street. They include new buildings and major renovations. City Hall is also upgrading the streetscape.

Officials have said the construction year along Main Street is one of the busiest ever.
