Drivers leave scene of Park City traffic accidents

Jay Hamburger THE PARK RECORD

The Park City Police Department last week received reports about at least four traffic accidents involving drivers leaving the scene before the victims could gather information.

The accidents occurred in several places across Park City. The cases included:

  • on Friday, Feb. 19 A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported in a driveway somewhere along Lucky John Drive at 5:58 p.m. A phone was also missing, the police were told.
  • on Feb. 19 at 4 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported in a parking lot along Deer Valley Drive. The victim’s vehicle was a Ford Explorer, the police said.
  • on Monday, Feb. 15, a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported somewhere along Deer Valley Drive at 3:53 p.m. The police said dark green paint found on the victim’s vehicle apparently came from the other vehicle. The accident occurred the day before.
  • on Feb. 15 at 10:19 a.m., a hit-and-run accident was logged on Woodbine Way. The victim’s vehicle was apparently backed into.

The police have long said hit-and-run traffic accidents are difficult to solve since there are no witnesses in many cases. People with information about the accidents last week may contact the Police Department at 615-5500 or the department’s tip line, 615-5847.
