General Plan meetings scheduled

The Park City Council on Tuesday is scheduled to take more public input about the redo of City Hall’s General Plan.
The meeting, set for a day when the City Council normally does not meet, was called as the elected officials continue the efforts to finish the work on the General Plan by the end of the year. There has been a desire to adopt the redone document this year.
The meeting is scheduled at 4 p.m. Mayor Dana Williams and the City Council are set to take testimony and address topics like the natural setting, the sense of community and the historic character of the city.
The General Plan is an overarching document that guides growth in Park City. Other City Hall documents, such as the more detailed development rules within the Land Management Code, are based on General Plan ideals.
Officials have put significant time and staff resources toward the redo of the General Plan. There was little apparent public interest through much of the work, but a few Parkites in recent weeks have questioned parts of the proposed redone document.
City Hall has released a schedule for upcoming meetings that will address the General Plan, finishing with a vote on Dec. 19. The schedule includes:
