Injured, dead deer seen in Park City

by Jay Hamburger
THE PARK RECORD

The Park City Police Department last week received at least three reports of deer in roads or close to roads, including two cases that apparently involved animals hit by vehicles.

The cases included:

  • on Sunday, Aug. 6, two deer, a doe and a fawn, were reportedly seen on Marsac Avenue just south of Old Town at 9:13 a.m. The police said the animals created a traffic hazard.
  • on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 9:14 p.m., a deer was seen in the road on Marsac Avenue. The animal was alive but injured, the police were told. The deer was attempting to walk.
  • on Aug. 5 at 1:36 a.m., a deer carcass was seen in the road at or close to the intersection of S.R. 224 and Meadows Drive.

Deer are plentiful in the Park City area and the Police Department often received reports of sightings by drivers.
