Learn about Deer Valley road projects
Park City officials on Tuesday are scheduled to host an open house designed for people interested in three public-sector projects in Deer Valley.
The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Deer Valley Plaza, 1375 Deer Valley Drive. The project teams are anticipated to attend to answer questions.
The open house will focus on repairs to a stretch of retaining wall on Royal Street, the resurfacing of Deer Valley Loop and the second phase of Deer Valley Drive improvements.
According to a flier advertising the event, the work on the retaining wall involves sections between the intersections of Deer Valley Drive and Golden Eagle Drive. One lane will be closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays for the workers.
A section of the retaining wall failed in 2011 and was temporarily shored up. The work this year is seen as a long-term repair.
The resurfacing of Deer Valley Loop is part of the Public Works Department’s ongoing road-maintenance efforts. The work is expected to be completed during the week of July 21.
The open house flier indicates the second phase of improvements along Deer Valley Drive has been delayed until 2015 based on bids that were higher than the amount Park City budgeted for the work. A final design for the improvements, though, will be on display at the event.
