Parking issues reported as snow falls in Park City

Police log complaints from across city during first big storm

The Park City Police Department last week received a series of complaints about parking problems in places across the city.

The issues arose as the first major snowfall of the season struck the area. Parking issues are commonplace after snowstorms as vehicles are found to be blocking snowplow routes, driveways and, sometimes, intersections. The Police Department often finds the owner and orders a vehicle moved or issues a warning that a vehicle must be moved.

Some of the cases reported last week included:

  • on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 6:48 p.m., two vehicles were reported to be parked at or close to the intersection of Park Avenue and Heber Avenue in a spot that made it difficult for buses to navigate the corner.
  • on Dec. 11 at 11:24 p.m., the police issued a ticket after a vehicle was found partially blocking a driveway somewhere along Park Avenue.
  • on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:55 p.m., a vehicle was reported to be blocking a driveway to an underground garage on the 800 block of Park Avenue.

Another report involved vehicles parked on or close to Ontario Avenue, where a vehicle was reportedly found parked halfway into the road at 8:02 p.m. on Dec. 11 at 8:02 p.m. The caller told the police he was glad officers ticketed other cars.

There was also reports logged on American Saddler Drive, in the vicinity of Ontario Avenue, on or close to Meadows Drive, Lowell Avenue
