If Park City residents needed any more reason to be careful out on the roads, last week, they got it. Between Nov. 11 and Nov. 15, there were several incidents of vehicle-animal collisions, including two cases where motorists struck moose.
At 1:22 a.m. Nov. 13, police were called to the scene of an accident involving an SUV and an elk on SR 224. Air bags were deployed but the extent of the driver’s injuries were not immediately clear.
At 12:21 p.m. Nov. 14, there was a call about a "traffic hazard" involving a white SUV and a moose at the intersection of State Road 224 and Meadows Drive. The nature of the incident was not known.
At 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 10, there was a report of a "large moose" headed from somewhere near Park City High School toward Kearns Boulevard.
At 6:27 p.m. Nov. 13, a resident called in to report "three very large elk" on the north side of S.R. 224 "near the white barn." The caller said they were concerned for the safety of passing motorists.
At 7:02 p.m. Nov. 13, police were advised of a dead deer in the middle of Kearns Boulevard near Park City High School. Just 20 minutes later, at 7:22 p.m., police were notified that a deer had been struck in the middle of the road near the intersection of Deer Valley and Bonanza drives.

At 7:45 a.m. Nov. 9, police responded to a call for a hit and run. A vehicle struck and ran over a street sign at the intersection of Little Kate Road and Lucky John Drive.
At 4:12 p.m. Nov. 9, police discovered a seemingly intoxicated man rolling around in leaves on Main Street.
At 5:24 a.m. Nov. 11, a person called the police because he/she believed someone had followed them into the Ice Arena parking lot at 600 Gilmore Way and seemed suspicious.
At 6:13 a.m. Nov. 11, a man was discovered sleeping underneath a counter at a building on Swede Alley.
At 8:44 a.m. Nov. 11, police were called in to assist when a utility problem caused water to come up through a manhole on S.R. 248.
At 9 a.m. Nov. 11, a Park City resident called to report a white truck in their home’s driveway and a sedan on the street blocking the driveway.
At 1:15 p.m. Nov. 11, a call came from the 400 block of Main Street to report an approximately 30-year-old male carrying a golf club and acting strangely.
At 3:46 Nov. 11, a business on Deer Valley Drive called police to report an individual had left the premises with two snowboards without paying for them.
At 8:38 p.m. Nov. 11, a Park City resident called to report their vehicle, a blue SUV, had been stolen. Fifteen minutes later, a call came to say the vehicle had been located and had just been misplaced.
At 11:15 a.m. Nov. 12, police were called to intervene in a dispute between two roommates at a home on Little Kate Road. The police report states one of the roommates was asked to leave earlier and had returned anyway.
At 4:47 p.m. Nov. 12, police were called about several trucks parked at the water treatment facility at 3800 E. Richardson Flat Road. The caller said the men all had bows and arrows and the concern was that they were going to hunt on city property
At 11:14 a.m. Nov. 13, a resident in the 1000 block of Deer Valley Drive called police to report a neighbor had turned the power off to his home using the outside power box.
At 5 p.m. Nov. 13, a resident called to report a hit and run on Lowell Avenue. Complainant said their 2004 SUV was struck in the rear driver’s side, causing significant damage to the lights and bumper.
At 11:42 p.m. Nov. 13, two suspects, a male and a female, were detained at a Main Street nightclub on suspicion of assaulting a female employee.
At 12:17 a.m. Nov. 14, police noticed an idling vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Bonanza Drive. The man in the vehicle was found asleep at the wheel, and told police he "got tired after work and fell asleep." There were no signs of alcohol.
