T-bone accident closes down stretch of Park City road Monday

Jay Hamburger THE PARK RECORD

An accident along Kearns Boulevard led to a stretch of road being closed for part of Monday afternoon.

Up to five people were checked by an ambulance crew. They did not need to be taken to a hospital.

Darwin Little, a police sergeant, said three cars were involved. The accident was reported at 2:36 p.m. at the intersection of Kearns Boulevard and Comstock Drive. Little said the driver of one of the vehicles was eastbound on Kearns Boulevard, ran a red light and struck another vehicle in a T-bone fashion. The vehicle that was hit then rolled into a third one, Little said.

The intersection remained open, but the stretch of Comstock Drive between Kearns Boulevard and Little Bessie Avenue was closed to traffic for approximately one hour as the investigation was underway.

Little said the driver of the vehicle that ran the red light was cited for failing to stop at the light.
